| Old Crackley Hall/Old St Joseph's News |
Crackley Hall was delighted to welcome former pupils and staff back to the school to join the whole community, and local parishoners, in marking St Joseph's Day. Headmaster, Rob Duigan, opened the service with a warm welcome, expressing appreciation for the rich history that the guests represented. This included sisters, Jackie and Gillian (née Willson), who were pupils of St Joseph's Convent School from 1952 to 1959, and Geraldine Higginbotham, former St Joseph's pupil and parent, who was accompanied by her daughter and daughter-in-law, both Crackley Hall parents themselves. Also in attendance were former longstanding staff members and dear friends of Crackley Hall, Dolores Simmonds, Susanne Jackson-Mayne and Brigitte Wood.
Father Ryan Service led the afternoon mass that celebrated the school’s patron saint, supported by pupils from Junior 6A. During his Homily, Fr Ryan reflected on how Joseph is so often overlooked and rarely given the recognition he deserves. He reminded us that there is power and great value in turning up for others and being there, even when it doesn't attract attention or appreciation.
Our thanks go to the staff and pupils who contributed to the celebrations and also to all the past pupils, parents and staff who attended. It was our pleasure to welcome them back to Crackley Hall.
