'Careers Insights' is the new and improved Careers Fair for Princethorpe College students, responding to the feedback and successes of our 2023 event. This 2025 event will therefore take a slightly different format, where attendees will be able to pre-select four 30-minute careers talks to attend during the morning, and also be able to attend a speech given by a special guest Keynote Speaker.
This year's Careers Insights is set to be the biggest careers fair yet. There will be talks on a wide variety of career sectors, from accountancy to midwifery, from law to fashion. The increasingly popular pathway of degree apprenticeships will be represented by several volunteers, as will key employers such as the Armed Forces, JLR, and JP Morgan, and popular universities including Nottingham Trent and Oxford Brookes.
Careers Insights promises to be 'a one stop careers shop’ for pupils in Year 10 through to Upper Sixth. Feedback has shown that students particularly enjoy hearing from OPs, as their shared history helps them to envision their own pathway after leaving the College, and so we are delighted that the majority of our volunteer speakers this year are former pupils or parents themselves.
Comments the Headmaster, Grove du Toit, "We are really indebted to all the OPs who have volunteered their time and energy over the years to make our Careers Fairs a success for our Year 10 to Sixth Form pupils and their parents."
If you would like to volunteer to support the Princethorpe Careers programme, we would love to hear from you. There are a number of ways you can support our pupils, so please get in touch to discuss by emailing our Alumni Relations and Development Officer, Caroline Spencer, at carolinespencer@princethorpe.co.uk, or calling 01926 634209.
Your support truly makes a significant difference to the aspirations and endeavours of our students. Comments Jacqui Quinney, Head of Careers, "We are always on the look out for Old Princethorpians, who have recently embarked on a new career or who are more established and would be willing to share their insights and experiences with our pupils."
For all enquiries relating to the Careers Fair, please email our Head of Careers, Jacqui Quinney, at jacquiquinney@princethorpe.co.uk, or telephone 01926 634200.
