Old Princethorpians News |
Representing the schools across the Princethorpe Foundation, including its heritage schools, and spanning multiple generations, it’s always a highlight to welcome this diverse and committed group back to campus. The committee exists to build a meaningful and engaged community of alumni - one that supports former pupils at every stage of their journey and strengthens the wider Foundation family.
Following a relaxed supper in the Refectory, the meeting began with a review of recent activity, including the successful launch of the Friday Fragments social media series, record OP involvement in the Careers Insights event, a rise in engagement on Princethorpe Connect, and a hugely positive response to the Annual Fund appeal to parents.
Each of the committee’s pillar groups then outlined their plans for the term ahead. Among the priorities discussed and agreed were:
Communications Pillar: Fresh themes for digital content and planning around upcoming anniversaries at Princethorpe and Crackley Hall.
Careers Pillar: More structured support for OPs and pupils around work experience and placement opportunities. If you’re able to help, please contact: jacquiquinney@princethorpe.co.uk.
Events Pillar: Launching a new annual Alumni Award to recognise alumni who are making a significant impact - see the dedicated article in the News section of Princethorpe Connect for more details.
Philanthropy and Development Pillar: Strengthening a culture of giving, whether through time, expertise or financial support.
Your OP Committee is excited for these next steps, but we are always open to hearing your own suggestions and feedback, as we strive to best serve the interests of the OP community. Please do get in touch at any time, at oldprincethorpians@princethorpe.co.uk.
The committee is actively planning ways - and new ventures - that will help achieve this shared goal. If there’s a way you feel you can contribute, or if you have ideas the committee should consider, please do get in touch.
The evening ended on a particularly joyful note, as the committee marked the 80th birthday of long-standing member and former St Mary’s Priory pupil, Mary Wheildon, with a small celebration and heartfelt thanks.
Our sincere appreciation goes to all members of the committee for their continued energy, insight and generosity. To share your thoughts, or to find out more, please email: oldprincethorpians@princethorpe.co.uk.
