A Spirit of Giving: How OPs Are Making A Difference

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’ve already been able to make a real difference - but with greater support, we could do even more.

Since its inception, the Annual Fund has helped deliver meaningful, lasting change across the Foundation - from bursaries and hardship support to improvements that directly enhance everyday life for our pupils. It’s about making sure we can respond when help is needed, and continuing to invest in the things that matter most to our school communities.

This year has been our most successful to date, with more than £500,000 pledged across all fundraising appeals. That total includes a wide range of gifts - from transformational donations to small, regular contributions - and shows just how powerful our community can be when it comes together with a shared purpose.

But there’s still so much more we can achieve.

The Annual Fund remains at the heart of our efforts. Its strength lies in three simple aims:

  • Widening access through bursaries and hardship awards
  • Improving the pupil experience through small but high-impact projects
  • Investing in the future of all three Foundation schools

Thanks to the generosity of our community, we’ve already been able to make a real difference - but with greater support, we could do even more. With increased backing, we would be able to:

  • Resurface the Hockey Astro at Princethorpe, ensuring safe, high-quality playing conditions for years to come
  • Improve sports facilities at Crackley Hall, enhancing co-curricular opportunities for younger pupils
  • Provide targeted support where it’s needed most - from urgent tech provision to resources that support pupil wellbeing
  • Expand our bursary and hardship programmes to support even more families during times of financial difficulty

Already this year, over 100 pupils have benefitted from bursary or remission support. But we know there are more families who could thrive with our help - if we have the means to offer it.

We know that only a few can give at the scale of OP Tunde Olanrewaju (Class of 1998), who recently pledged an incredible £100,000 to support future Princethorpians. But we also know that small, regular gifts - £10 a month, with Gift Aid - can be just as powerful when part of a wider community effort. These gifts sustain our schools, create opportunities, and ensure no child misses out due to circumstance.

If you’ve already given, thank you. If not, we’d love you to consider joining those who do.

Together, we can make sure every young person has the chance to thrive - and that the spirit of Princethorpe lives on in all we do.
